Vad: words in the world
The same banyan and the same words, twice. Above, the words sit on a panel over the picture. Below, with words="world", they are written in the sky beside the tree, and each line ends where the canopy begins; as the tree grows, the paragraph makes room for it four times, never under a leaf. Quiet keeps the words flat, and so does any screen too small to read them.
On a panel
The ordinary Vad: the page's words in the reading panel, the tree held still under them.
Under the vad
Every village has one: a banyan by the square, older than anyone can remember. Its roots come down from the branches and become new trunks, so the tree walks slowly outward, and its shade walks with it. The stone platform at its foot is where the news is passed on and the afternoon is slept through.
In the world
The words in the sky, each line stopping short of the canopy.

Vad's own page: registers, progress and a new tree.
